Winchester Expands Senior Property Tax Exemption

The new senior tax exemption program will allow some seniors who receive the Circuit Breaker to apply for a tax credit to reduce their property tax bill.

Seniors must file a Massachusetts Tax return and receive the circuit breaker on Schedule CB. They must also live in their Winchester home for the last 10 consecutive years.

The amount of the tax exemption will be determined by the Select Board.

Applications must be submitted along with a complete copy of your 2020 Massachusetts Tax Return with Schedule CB. The application period will be from August 1 – October 1, 2021.
