Bus Services Complicate Woburn Schools' Budget Plan
The only company offering to bus Woburn students is asking for more than the School Committee had in mind.

Further complicating the already tenuous relationship between Woburn Public Schools and the city, the only company offering to bus students to and from Woburn schools is asking for more than what the tentative budget allows, according to The Daily Times Chronicle.
“It’s about 14 percent more than we’re paying this year,” Woburn Assistant Superintendent for Finance Joseph Ella told the source.
The Chronicle reports the school’s proposed $56.6 million budget already runs approximately $945,000 afoul of what Mayor Scott Galvin has said he’s willing to fork over for the Fiscal Year 2016.

Ella said representatives from the school plan to negotiate with the bus company, North Suburban, to hopefully bring their asking cost down to something that won’t make future contract negotiations with the mayor even more difficult.
