The Woburn City Council will be selecting a new city auditor at a special meeting tonight, Monday, June 29, according to published reports.

The council interviewed both finalists last week and is expected to select the new auditor at a meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, according to a report from Daily Times Chronicle.

The two finalists for the position of city auditor are Charles Doherty, current deputy auditor for the city of Woburn, and Andrew Vanni, current finance director for the city of Haverhill, the report said.

According to the Daily Times Chronicle, former Woburn city auditor Gerald Surette retired in 2014, but was asked to remain on a contractual basis as the city made financial arrangements on expensive projects.
