Commuter Rail Schedules to Change in December

If you use the Newburyport/Rockport, Haverhill, Lowell or Fitchburg commuter lines, your daily commute is changing in December.
The MBTA has announced that the schedules for those four lines are being updated and will go into effect in December. The changes come after a “detailed analysis” and the new schedules include additional express services as well as consistent arrival and departure times.

Despite infrastructure, ridership and other significant changes, the schedules hadn’t been updated in decades, according to a press release.

“The revised schedules are designed to improve the passenger experience through consistent arrival and departure times and additional express services,” according to the release.
