After two disappointing weeks, the Woburn Tanners finally earned their first win of the season, beating the Lexington Minutemen by a score of 30-7 Friday night. The Tanners may have posted 30 points in the contest, but it was there defense which impressed the most. Lexington had scored a total of 48 points through their first two games. Woburn's defense hunkered down and did not allow a touchdown until the final minute of the game.Woburn set the tone early, scoring a touchdown on the opening drive. They would later add a punt return touchdown and another score through the air. Their defense also forced an interception.The Tanners led 20-0 at halftime and closed off the game in impressive fashion.Woburn will next be in action on Friday, Oct. 2, when they visit Belmont.
