ICYMI: Woburn City Council Appoints New City Auditor

The city council selected the new city auditor in a unanimous 9-0 vote.

The Woburn City Council held a special meeting on Monday night, during which it appointed its newest city auditor in a unanimous vote.

During the special meeting, Charles Doherty was appointed as the new city auditor after receiving nine votes from the nine person city council, according to officials from the City of Woburn. After being declared elected, a motion was made that a communication be sent to the city auditor-elect, indicating a start date of July 27 and asking for Doherty’s written acceptance, city officials said.

The incumbent city auditor will close out the books for fiscal year 2015, which will take between two and three weeks, after which Doherty will take office.
