Jaws Of Life Needed to Save Elderly Man In Woburn Highway Crash

The accident shut down Exit 36 off I-93 Southbound for a time on Monday.

The Woburn Fire Department says the Jaws of Life and chainsaws were required to remove an elderly man from his car after he managed to drive into the air and get stuck between two trees, nearby Exit 36, at approximately 1:13 p.m. Monday.

The I-93 Montvale Avenue exit was closed for a time as emergency workers sought to resolve the situation.

The department says the victim was taken to a hospital thereafter, but could not comment on his identity or condition.
