POLICE LOG: Approximately $5K in Jewelry Stolen from Residence

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

At 4:45 p.m. police responded to a Inwood Drive residence on a report of theft. The victims had just returned home from an extended vacation and discovered their apartment was entered and several pieces of expensive gold jewelry was stolen.

The door lock did not appear to be tampered with or forced open and at first they didn’t notice that the items were missing but several things were out of place.

Most of the jewelry was taken from a closet in the master bedroom. An unlocked safe was also opened and a Social Security card of the couple’s daughter was taken.

Among the items stolen was a gold necklace and earring set, a gold pendant with earrings, a pendant and earing set with Swarowski crystals, gold hoop earrings and other miscellaneous jewelry.

Total value is believed to be around $5,000.

Other Incidents

May 10-

At 10:15 a.m. Police responded to a Forest Park Road residence on a call of annoying/threatening phone calls. The caller said her son received phone calls while he was on his way home from college from the mother of his daughter. During the call the reporting party said the woman was upset about a custody issue regarding a probate court decision the day before. The reporting party said the woman made threatening statements that her son should “watch his back” and that she was “going to have her friends take him out.” Threats were also made against the Cambridge Court liaison.

Police informed the caller to go to Woburn District Court for a Harassment Protection Order.

 

At 2:55 p.m. police responded to a Gregg Street apartment on a report of a theft. The caller said that a side door to the apartment that is normally locked was left open when he left that morning. When he returned he noticed that a Playstation 3 and an Acer laptop were missing from his room. There was no signs of forced entry. Total value of items stolen was approximately $350.

 

At 4:28 p.m. a man came to the station to report a past theft. The man said that the day before someone stole his sneakers from work. Inside the sneakers were his wallet, which contained his license, four debit cards and $150. Police advised him to cancel the debit cards.

 

May 12-

At 11:21 a.m. police responded to the Marriott Hotel on a report of larceny from a motor vehicle. The caller said he parked his friend’s 2010 Toyota at the hotel at 3:30 a.m. with the doors unlocked. At 10:30 a.m. that morning he noticed his cell phone, valued at $250, was missing. There was also assorted jewelry which he could not value missing.

 

At 4:06 p.m. police responded to the AT&T store at the Woburn Mall on a report of pas theft. The manager said that he noticed a large amount of inventory missing from a display station that contained iPhone accessories that morning. He viewed the store’s surveillance video and was able to see the theft transpire on Friday night at 8:28 p.m. Two white males are shown on the video taking items and putting them in their jacket pockets.

The manager said 15 iPhone cases were taken and the value of the loss is over $900.
