SCI Summer Concert Series at Horn Pond Concluded Last Friday

On Friday, August 15, 175 community members gathered at Ice House Park to enjoy the final performance of the 2025 SCI Summer Concert Series.

On Friday, August 15, 175 community members gathered at Horn Pond’s scenic Ice House Park to enjoy the final performance of the 2025 SCI Summer Concert Series, featuring alternative R&B singer-songwriter J-Renee. J-Renee is a Boston-based independent artist and Harvard PhD candidate. Originally from Virginia Beach, VA, her music is deeply influenced by her research into human relationships and memory, resulting in art that is as thoughtful as it is emotionally raw. This free event was sponsored by Reading Cooperative Bank.

The 2025 SCI Summer Concert Series at Horn Pond welcomed nearly 500 guests with three concerts held in July and August. In addition to the performance by J-Renee, the series also featured country covers and originals from Woburn native Renee Leavitt with Renee & The Renegades, sponsored by Winchester Savings Bank, and Lowell-based indie artist, Everely Estelle, sponsored by Lamacchia Realty. At all three events was Empower Cafes, providing food and drinks for purchase.

The concerts provided a space for connection, community, and fun for guests of all ages. A special highlight was SCI’s Social Connection Bingo, a game encouraging guests to meet their neighbors. Upon completing the game, participants were entered into a free raffle where three winners were randomly selected at each event. Prizes included SCI swag, outdoor toys, and a cafe-themed grand prize featuring an Empower Cafes gift card.
