Woburn Boys & Girls Club Hosting Retro Recipes Class

The baking class will give students in grades 6-12 a chance to bake classic desserts using old recipes from the Woburn Public Library.

WOBURN, MA — The Boys & Girls Club of Woburn and Woburn Public Library are teaming up to give local students a chance to do some old school baking.

At 2 p.m. on April 19, Retro Recipes: Teen Cooking Class will take place in the state-of-the-art kitchen at the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, 1 Charles Gardner Ln. The two-hour class, held during April Vacation, is for students in Grades 6-12.

Registration is available on the library website, and students can register individually or in a group. As of Thursday, eight of 16 spaces were available, according to the library website.

According to organizers, the recipes will be selected from real antique cookbooks from Woburn Public Library's Glennon Archives.

"In small groups, (students) will be baking either a cookie, cake, pie, or pudding recipe, then we will share our delicious creations with everyone and get to take home copies of all the recipes," event organizers said in a statement.
