Woburn Council To Pick Higgins Replacement Thursday

The Ward 7 aldermen stepped down at the end of the council's March 2 meeting.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn City Council is due to select a new Ward 7 alderman Thursday to replace Lindsay Higgins.

Higgins, an alderman since 2015 and the council's president since July, 2020, stepped down unexpectedly March 2. Alderman Edward Tedesco was elected council president at the same meeting.

The council solicited applications from candidates to fill the seat. The person picked at the special meeting Thursday will serve the remainder of the term, which ends with the Nov. 2 municipal election.
