Woburn Dog License Registration Now Online

Online registration is available now, though Woburn dog owners can still also drop off or mail their registration to the City Clerk.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn’s annual dog licensing process now has an online option for city residents for 2023, officials announced last week.

Registration is now open through a new city permitting portal. Those needing to register a dog can do so through a link here. Most residents utilizing new online registration capabilities will be first time users of the system, meaning they will need to create an account using an email address.

Woburn requires all dogs living in the city to be licensed. Licenses expire annually on Dec. 31.

While Woburn has launched online registration, residents can also drop off their registration in person at the office of the City Clerk or send their registration by mail to the City Clerk’s office in City Hall at 10 Common Street.

Residents using in-person or mail-in registration options should complete the dog registration form, which is available for downloading here.

Registration costs $10 for a spayed or neutered dog and $15 for dog that has not been spayed or neutered. Fees increase after March 15, at which point spayed/neutered dog registration will cost $25. The cost for dogs that are not spayed or neutered will rise to $30.

Individuals penalized for having an unregistered dog in Woburn will need to pay $50 in addition to the late licensing fee.

All new registrations and license renewals must provide a current rabies vaccination record as well as a spaying/neutering certificate this year due to Woburn's transition to online permitting.
