Woburn Looks To Fill Recreation Commission Vacancy

The Recreation Commission serves in an oversight role for the city Parks and Recreation departments.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn is seeking applicants interested in joining its Recreation Commission, the city announced on Thursday.

Tasked with overseeing city playgrounds, athletic fields, recreation centers and recreation activities, the Recreation Commission maintains what the city recently described as “general supervision, control and direction” over the city Recreation Department and Parks Department.

The commission meets monthly. Recreation commissioners receive an annual $2,100 stipend.

Interested applicants should send their resumes and/or letters of interest to the Committee on Personnel, Office of the City Clerk, Woburn City Hall, 10 Common Street, Woburn, Massachusetts 01801 by 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4.

The City Council will be tasked with ultimately making an appointment to the Recreation Commission.
