Woburn Marching Band To Perform In Competition On Saturday

WOBURN, MA — The Woburn Memorial High School marching band will head to Melrose this weekend to participate in a regional marching band competition.

The public is invited to attend.

The event is set for Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Fred Green Field at 360 Lynn Fells Parkway in Melrose. In addition to band performances, the competition will offer pizza, grilled sausage and apple crisp available for purchase.

There will be a 50/50 cash raffle with proceeds going back to the Melrose High School marching band, as noted in an event announcement from the city of Melrose.

The price of admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students and adults over the age of 65. The event is free to guests ages five and under.

The Woburn Memorial High School band will perform alongside 10 other high schools and two area colleges.

The full performance schedule is as follows:

  • Marblehead High School - 5:00 p.m.
  • Fitchburg High School - 5:15 p.m.
  • Reading Memorial High School - 5:30 p.m.
  • Woburn Memorial High School - 5:45 p.m.
  • Lowell High School - 6:00 p.m.
    • Intermission - 6:15 p.m.
  • Medford High School - 6:35 p.m.
  • Everett High School - 6:50 p.m.
  • Westbrook High School - 7:05 p.m.
  • North Reading High School - 7:20 p.m.
  • Melrose High School - 7:35 p.m.
  • Methuen High School - 7:50 p.m.
  • Merrimack College - 8:20 p.m.
  • Boston University - 8:35 p.m.
    • Award Ceremony - 8:50 p.m.

This weekend's event is one of several upcoming performance events for Woburn marching band student musicians.

The band will be back in action on Oct. 22 in Wakefield before participating in a regional marching band championship event in Reading on Oct. 30.
