Woburn Mayor, Workers Union Reach Four-Year Contract Agreement

Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin and the City Hall workers union recently settled on a new labor agreement.

Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin and the City Hall workers union have settled on a new four-year labor agreement, the mayor announced last week.

The new labor contract will feature a 10.5-percent salary raise and a 5-percent increase in health insurance contributions for all workers, the Daily Times Chronicle reports.

The contract, which began retroactively on July 1, 2014, will run through June of 2018. 2-percent pay raises will be issued in 2015 and 2016. A 3-percent raise will follow in 2017 and a 3.5-percent raise in 2018.

About 21 workers will be affected by the new labor contract. The Teamsters Union represents the workers. Galvin called the deal “fair” and “good” for each side.
