Welcome to Meet the Librarian Monday, where each week we will feature one of our awesome WPL librarians! We’re so lucky to have librarians with such unique experiences. Our part-time reference librarian, Dominique, comes from the world of academic librarianship and is able to bring those skills to helping patrons.

How long have you been working in libraries? My journey so far has been academic librarianship for 18 years.
What’s your favorite part of your job? I think the pandemic has highlighted the importance of the library as a place for info, WIFI, programs, and relief from WFH at the kitchen table… It makes my day when people advance ideas and tasks using our resources.
What are you reading at the moment? I am Malala, by Malala Yousafzai. She brings up hard questions about society, along with women’s rights and education. This title has inspired me to explore more on Pakistan.
When not at work, what do you like to do? I make clothes and use a dress form which constantly has some wearable project pinned to it.
Stay tuned to meet more of our new staff and familiar faces.
