Woburn Recruits Among State Firefighting Academy Graduates
Three local firefighter recruits graduated as part of a class of 21 other recruits from 11 Massachusetts fire departments.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn celebrated three new recruits last week who graduated from the state Firefighting Training Program in Stow, as noted by the state Department of Fire Services.
The program spans 50 days, including classroom training and controlled fire practice to learn firefighting skills.
Recruits must show proficiency in life safety, search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operation, and fire attack to graduate.

A total of 21 graduates from 11 fire department across Massachusetts recently completed their firefighting academy training.
Brett Duran, Patrick Concannon and Joseph Kenton are each affiliated with the Woburn Fire Department.

Other graduates represented departments including Andover, Beverly, Danvers, Dracut, Middleborough, Stoneham, Sudbury, Truro, Wakefield and Weston.
