Woburn Thanksgiving 2022: Store Hours, Weather, Trash Pickup

WOBURN, MA — Need last minute Thanksgiving supplies? Area residents have a few options Thursday, though options are limited.

Here’s the latest on what’s open, what’s closed, waste collection delays and more.

Grocery Stores

While most larger grocery stores are closed in light of state regulations, the H-Mart chain has announced that its Massachusetts stores in Quincy, Cambridge and Burlington will be open Thursday beginning at 8 a.m.

State law also lets grocery stores with three or fewer employees open on Thanksgiving, allowing some smaller corner store sites to offer Thanksgiving hours.

Pharmacies

CVS — Many CVS Pharmacy locations, including 24-hour locations, will be open regular hours. Some pharmacies may have reduced hours or be closed for the holiday.

Walgreens — Some stores and 24-hour pharmacies will be open during regular business hours. Select pharmacies will be open with modified hours. Customers are encouraged to check their local store hours before heading out.

Waste Collection

Waste collection in Woburn will be delayed by one day this week due to Thanksgiving. Scheduled Thursday pickups will run on Friday. Friday pickups will run on Saturday.

Non-public safety city offices will be closed.

Football

Woburn will head to Winchester on Thursday morning in this year’s annual Woburn Memorial High School/Winchester High School Thanksgiving football game.

Kickoff is set for 10:30 a.m.

Weather

Forecasters on Wednesday morning were still predicting calm weather for the Woburn area on Thanksgiving. Temperatures will likely be at or around average for this time of year.
