WuBurger Fire Likely Caused By Discarded Cigarette, Firefighters Say
The fire broke out on Friday morning at the WuBurger restaurant in Woburn.
WOBURN, MA — A fire at Woburn’s WuBurger restaurant on Friday morning may have been caused by “careless disposal of a cigarette,” according to Woburn Fire IAFF 971.
The union shared photos and information on the fire on Twitter on Friday afternoon.
The fire started outside of the WuBurger location at 880 Main Street early in the morning. Executive Chef Cisco Sanchez later told Patch that he arrived at the restaurant as the smoke cleared.

The building, Sanchez said, did not suffer any interior damage, a fact that he credited to its brick exterior wall. Damage could be seen on some of the building's exterior.
A restaurant entrance around where the fire took place was blocked off with caution tape as of 4 p.m. on Friday, though the restaurant was open.
