Madison Rezoning Fails at Wrentham Town Meeting
Though it got a majority votes, the rezoning article narrowly missed a two-thirds vote.
The proposed rezoning of a parcel on the corner of Madison Street and Route 1 failed Monday night at Wrentham's Town Meeting.
The vote went 247-178 in favor of the rezoning, but it needed at 58 percent of the vote, to reach the necessary two-thirds to pass.
The rezoning would have changed the nearly 50 acre parcel from a combination of mostly residential property and a small portion of commercial one to comercial two zoning entirely.
