The highway was temporarily shut down Thursday night due to a serious car accident on I-495 North just before Exit 15 in Wrentham.
According to Sun Chronicle, the roof of the car had to be cut off and the man inside was extracted after 20 and brought to Rhode Island Hospital by a medical helicopter. The accident was reported around 9:10 p.m.
The incident is under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
