Fire Lieutenant Robert Skinner Jr. has been promoted to acting deputy chief while firefighter Greg Smith is now acting lieutenant.
According to Sun Chronicle, a committee of five area fire chiefs interviewed candidates for the jobs as part of the selection process. Smith has eight years experience with Plainville Fire Department while Skinner has 19. Both were previously call firefighters.
A search committee will soon be formed to find candidates for the Fire Chief position, which is temporarily being held by Chief Justin Alexander.
