Truck Rolls-Over, Spills Asphalt On I-495, Closing Highway

Massachusetts State Police said the truck driver was ejected, taken to the hospital and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

WRENTHAM, MA — A truck rollover created significant delays on Interstate 495 southbound at Exit 14 B.

Massachusetts State Police said the driver of a tri-axle truck was ejected and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

The truck was hauling asphalt which spilled onto the highway. All lanes except the breakdown lane were closed. The on-ramp from Route 1 to I-495 was also closed.

State Police said crews from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation worked to clean the spilled asphalt from the highway, which took a couple hours.
