Wrentham Schools Improve Scores on MCAS
Recently released scores show improvement among Wrentham schools

The 2015 results from the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) in Wrentham have been released.
The scores show continued improvement from the students.
Students’ scores were placed into one of four performance categories: Advanced, proficient, needs improvement and warning/failing.

On the 2015 English Language Arts (ELA), 81 percent of Wrentham students scored proficient or higher.
That is a two percent increase from 2014 and higher than the state’s 75 percent average of students scoring proficient or higher, according to school Superintendent Allan Cameron.

In math, 80 percent of Wrentham students scored proficient or higher, a four percent increase from 2014.
In the science and technology/engineering MCAS, tested in the fifth grade, 73 percent of Wrentham students scored proficient or higher. 51 percent of the state scored proficient or higher in that category.
The majority of students made moderate, high or very high growth on the 2015 ELA and mathematics MCAS when compared to their performance on the 2014 test, according to Cameron.
