Here's How To Scan Your MI Lottery Ticket Using Your Phone
Here's how you can check your Michigan lottery tickets using your phone.
MICHIGAN — With the Mega Millions nearing a record high, you may want to double-check your lottery tickets. And you can do so using your phone.
Michiganders can easily check their lottery tickets using the ticket scanner on the app, which can be downloaded from the Michigan Lottery mobile app. In order to use the scanner, you must have a registered Michigan Lottery account.
If you're using an iPhone or another iOS device, you can find the scanner from the menu at the bottom of the screen.

After that, the app will ask to access your device's camera, and then you'll need to sign in to your Michigan Lottery account if you haven't already done so.
Then use the viewfinder on the device to read the ticket's entire bardcode until the corners of the viewfinder turn green. A message will then appear with the results.

If you're using an Adroid device, you'll find the scanner on the icon that's three lines in the upper-left portion of the screen.
After that, select the ticket scanner and follow the same process as an iPhone.
You can also use in-store ticket scanners, which are available in many stores and retailers.
The Mega Millions is up to $1.15 billion, making it the fifth-largest jackpot in the game's history. The cash option is roughly $516.1 million.
Mega Millions tickets are $2 each and can be played in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tickets for Friday's drawing can be purchased until 10:45 p.m. Friday at Michigan Lottery retailers throughout the state. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. in Atlanta.
