More Snow, Single Digit Wind Chills: MI Weather
Some areas of Michigan can up to a foot of fresh snow by Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
MICHIGAN — Accumulating snow is possible across parts of Michigan as colder air moves into the state, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered snow showers with minimal accumulations are expected across southeastern Michigan on Friday, when temperatures fall into the 20s with winds chills falling to 5 degrees, according to the weather service.
Chances for lake effect snow showers with little to no accumulation will stick around in the region through early next week, according to the weather service.

Other parts of Michigan can see heavy snow to start 2025. The Munising area can see up to 12 inches of fresh snow by Friday night, according to the weather service.
That area in the Upper Peninsula has already seen roughly 150 inches of snow in 2024, according to the weather service.

In northern Michigan, including the Cadillac, Petoskey and Gaylord areas, forecasters expect up to 6 inches of fresh snow by Friday night, according to the weather service.
Some areas in southwest Michigan, including Sturgis and Coldwater, can see up to 2 inches of fresh snow by Friday night, thanks to a clipper system, according to the weather service.
