New Principal Named for Angell Elementary in Berkley

Anthony Stamm has been named the new principal of in Berkley, Interim Superintendent Dennis McDavid announced Wednesday.

According to a message from McDavid:

The Berkley School District is pleased to announce Anthony Stamm as the new Principal of Angell Elementary. Mr. Stamm will join the Berkley family on July 1, 2012. He comes to Berkley from Birmingham Schools with an outstanding reputation as a great teacher and leader.

Mr. Stamm was selected from an applicant pool of over 50 candidates after interviews with Angell staff, parents and district administrators. All agreed he is a wonderful fit for Angell and are confident he will continue all the outstanding things happening there.

Mr. Stamm is currently the Instructional Specialist at Pembroke Elementary in Birmingham Schools. He received his Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Michigan University, and Master’s degree in educational leadership from Oakland University. Prior to Birmingham Schools, Mr. Stamm worked as a teacher in Southfield Public Schools. He is certified in K-8 instruction. Mr. Stamm has experience working with students before and after school, in clubs, activities, tutoring and sports. In addition, he has experience working with technology in the classroom, Professional Learning Communities, data teams and character education.
