Resident Honored for Berkley Public Library Board Role
The City Council passes a resolution to recognize Sandi Rewalt's 20 years of service.
The Berkley City Council recently honored longtime Board member Sandi Rewalt for her 20 years of service.
A resolution passed July 16 highlighted Rewalt's role as secretary of the board, as well as her involvement with the Berkley Public Library building project and as a volunteer with the Friends of the Library.
"Sandi Rewalt dedicated many hours helping to move the library from our temporary location and back to the renovated building, including unpacking boxes and reshelving books," the resolution reads.

Rewalt began her service with the board in 1992; her term ended June 30, City Manager Jane Bais-DiSessa said.
In retirement, Rewalt plans to travel with her husband, visit her children and continue her volunteer work with the Friends of the Library, according to the resolution.

"It was a good 20 years. I didn't even realize how long it was until you just told me," she said during the City Council meeting. "I will miss everyone on the Library Board."
