Berkley Seeks Resident Input for Infrastructure Needs
The next CAC meeting for Infrastructure Improvements will be held on Jan. 23 at 6:30 PM in the Public Safety Building,

Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) for Infrastructure Improvements, appointed by the Berkley City Council, held its first meeting on January 9th. It was the beginning of a series of conversations that will culminate with recommendations to address critical infrastructure issues. The recommendations will be presented for City
Council consideration in March.
The committee, comprised of a cross section of Berkley residents, is reflective of the community by gender, age, family, marital status and includes long time and short term residents. Tim Gaudet is the chair and Melanie Stevens is the vice chair.

1. Review information regarding the city’s infrastructure needs – specifically
roads and water infrastructure and municipal buildings
2. Gain an understanding of the:
- challenges and the financial impacts on the city’s current and future budgets
- financial implications of potential committee recommendations
3. Review and discuss data regarding the condition of city roads/water

- Funding strategy for roads, water, municipal buildings improvements
- Community Center/Ice Arena – should ice operations continue?
- Municipal buildings, including City Hall/Historic Fire Hall, DPW,etc.
City staff provided an overview of the historical events and challenges leading up to the current state of road and water infrastructure and both the Parks & Recreation and City Hall complexes. City leaders are also seeking input from residents regarding the access and use of the Community Center and Ice Arena facilities. To achieve this goal, residents are asked to participate in the Community Center Utilization Survey, available online.Click Berkley Community Center Survey to participate. Paper copies are available at the Community Center, Public Library, Public Safety and City Hall. Resident engagement is an important part of this process and one member from each Berkley household is encouraged to respond to the survey by January 27, 2017.
The next CAC meeting for Infrastructure Improvements will be held on January 23,2017 at 6:30 PM in the Public Safety Building, 2nd floor conference room.
