Berkley Students Take 6th Place in 'Destination Imagination' State Competition
The Destination Imagination team from Pattengill Elementary was recognized for its "reBoot Detroit" project.

Pattengill Elementary School's Destination Imagination team recently took sixth place at the Destination Imagination State Finals competition.
The team qualified for the state tournament - which took place on April 20 - after placing first in their regional tournament, according to the school district's most recent newsletter.
Destination Imagination is an extracurricular activity in which students work in teams to develop creative solutions to complex challenges, according to the Michigan Creativity Association.

Teams present solutions at sanctioned tournaments, where they display creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that they have developed as a team.

Through their "reBoot Detroit" project, the Pattengill team provided almost 100 pairs of winter boots to homeless children and adults in Detroit. They told their story through a movie, critical review, live press conference and a humorous skit, the newsletter states.
