Weekend Planner: 5K, Fundraisers and a Taste of Culture
Whether you feel like laughing, running, getting spiritual or winning big, there's something for you to do this weekend in Berkley and Huntington Woods.

Finally! The weekend is just around the corner. We have you covered with a slew of ideas for how to use all that free time.
'You Have the Right to Laugh Your A** Off'
- When: 8:30 p.m. Friday
- Where:
- Why go: The comedy show featuring police officers-turned-comics Dave McDonald, Khurum Sheikh and headliner Bryan McCree will raise funds for the Thin Blue Line of Michigan. There will be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes. The Thin Blue Line of Michigan is a nonprofit that supports the families of injured, disabled and fallen public safety workers.
- Cost: $18 at the door; $15 in advance. Space is limited.

Run/Walk BOOM!!!
- When: One mile run/walk, ages 13-adult, 8:30 a.m.; 1-mile run/walk, 12 and younger, 8:45 a.m.; 5K run/walk, 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
- Where: Start and finish will be at the corner of Scotia and Hart, near the .
- Why go: Top finishers will receive medals and ribbons and everyone who participates in the 1K will get a ribbon. Racers will receive refreshments on race day.
- Cost: 5K, $25 through June 26 or $30 afterward; 1K, 12 and younger, with no shirt is $5, with shirt is $15; 1K, 13 and older, with no shirt is $10, with shirt is $20. Donations accepted at RunWalkBoom.com.

'Go Green Summer Raffle'
- When: Drawing at 6 p.m. Saturday
- Where:
- Why go: You could snag a scooter and save on the cost of gas for getting around town this summer or pocket hundreds of dollars.
- Cost: $5.00 per raffle ticket
- What else: Call the parish office at 248-541-3762 to purchase tickets.
Shanti Yoga grand opening
- When: 2-6 p.m. Saturday
- Where: 2769 Coolidge Highway, Berkley
- Why go: The family-friendly event will feature a bounce house, face painting, vegan and vegetarian food, a raffle to win cranial sacral therapy, a Reiki session and/or a yoga class package.
- Cost: Free

Taste of Missions
- When: Following 10 a.m. service Sunday

- Why go: Bring a dessert to pass while you meet and interact with church missionaries and eat food from the culture they serve.
