
The Birmingham Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the district's administrative offices on West Merrill.
On Tuesday, the board will consider several resolutions, including:
- Routine personnel action, incluidng recommendations for the hiring of a new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources as well as the principal position at the Birmingham Covington School. Farmington principal Mark Morawski was offered the position late last week.
- Amending the central office administrator/manager salary schedule.
- Approving attendance at the Character Education Partnership Conference.
Also on Tuesday, the school board trustees will discuss — but make no decisions on — a resolution to legally change the name of the school district. Currently, the legal name of the district is "School District of the City of Birmingham." The board will consider changing the name to simply "Birmingham Public Schools."

Before their regular meeting, the school board will also meet in closed session to discuss negotiations.
