Busch's Aims To Reduce Child Hunger With Food Drive
Food drive will benefit a number of different charities, such as Forgotten Harvest, Food Gatherers and Gleaners.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Busch’s Fresh Food Market is partnering with local food banks to help reduce child hunger with the annual “All aBout Children Food Drive,” a community-based fundraiser where food and dollars raised in specific cities, stays in those cities. The drive will run May 8 -17 at all Busch’s locations.
“Since 2009, the ABC Food Drive has raised over $850,000 in cash and food donations to help local families in need,” said Doug Busch, Community Development Director. “This is a community-based effort and we wouldn’t be able to do it without the generosity of our guests.”
Guests will have the opportunity to donate five different ways, which include $5 towards produce, $10 in bakery, recycling slips, any cash amount, or a $10 ready-to-go bag. Busch’s will also be hosting a Grill Fest at all locations, 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 12 through May 14 in which 20 percent of all sales, including ribs sales from Busch’s new restaurant in Canton, J.B.’s Smokehouse, will be donated directly to the food drive.

Busch’s mission to promote the welfare of others stems back to when the company opened its doors in 1975. Busch’s believes that it’s important to be an active member within the community, rather than just a neighborhood store. With these philanthropic methods, Busch’s continues to grow throughout southeast Michigan.
Local charities that benefit from this program are Forgotten Harvest, Food Gatherers, Gleaners, Airport Community Schools, Tecumseh Community Schools and Service Clubs, Pinckney Community Schools, Saline Social Services and Clinton Community Schools. “Many children rely on schools or other day programs to get the food they need,” said Busch. “This is our chance to deliver fresh, nutritious food for our children to eat during the summer months.”
Busch’s is Michigan’s largest independent grocery retailer with locations in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Canton, Clinton, Carleton, Dexter, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi, Pinckney, Plymouth-Northville, Rochester Hills, Saline, South Lyon, Tecumseh and West Bloomfield. Busch’s also operates a Central Kitchen located in Clinton Township and a self-distributing warehouse in South Lyon
