Girls and boys in grades 3-5 and 6-8 can learn the basics of cheerleading at this clinic taught by the Seaholm Maples sideline and competitive cheer squad.
Participants will be separated into age groups and taught various skills, including how to stretch and warm-up, correct arm position, proper jump technique, beginning tumbling skills and more. They will have opportunities to view the competitive cheerleading team's routines and will learn cheers and chants to fire up a crowd.
The clinic concludes with boys basketball game Feb. 18, which participants set to perform a special cheer with the varsity cheerleaders during the game. A special section will also be reserved for them in the stands where they can participate in fun activities throughout the game.
