On June 6, over 650 Roeperians will gather at 8:45 a.m. on the Bloomfield campus grounds in a special celebration honoring the 100th birthday of George Roeper. Students, staff, parents and alumni will gather together at this event to dedicate themselves to becoming founders of Roeper’s future. The concluding ceremony will take place at the Roeper Community Center at 10:30 a.m.
“This day means a great deal to our faculty and students,” said Dunn. “Our school was founded upon a philosophy of respect, equality and individuality by George and Annemarie who believed wholeheartedly in those principles. It is with great respect and love for our founders and their passion for those ideals that we celebrate their impact in our lives. This year is especially meaningful because it would have been George’s 100th birthday.”
Founder’s Day, held annually to honor the school’s founders George and Annemarie Roeper, stresses the importance of the ideals of the Roepers such as respecting and empowering students to change the world for the better.
The Roeper freshman class is responsible for organizing the school-wide event, including games, a cake, speeches and singing.
