Fuel Report: Local Gas Prices Fall Ahead of General Election

With the presidential election just around the corner, gas prices in Metro Detroit (and at some Birmingham stations) are falling.

According to the AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in Metro Detroit is $3.42 this morning, down from $3.45 a week ago.

Some of the lowest gas prices in and around southeastern Michigan can be found in Fraser, where gas is $3.20 a gallon at the Sunoco station at the corner of 14 Mile and Utica, and Lake Orion, where gas is $3.21 a gallon at a Speedway and Kroger gas station along South Lapeer Road.

In and around Birmingham Monday morning, the cheapest price is $3.43, found at the Citgo station on Woodward Avenue.
