The City of Brighton’s Leaf Collection Program is coming to a close in the next few weeks.
Waste Management is still picking up yard waste bags curbside from all city residents in the brown yard waste bags every week on your normal trash pickup day through Nov. 28th.
The brown leaf bags are still available and will continue to be through Monday, Nov. 26th at the Department of Public Services Office, 420 S. Third Street. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no limit on the number of bags that can be put out for collection during the fall months.
In addition to this service, City crews are still vacuuming up leaves from the curbs. They have completed one run of all of the three routes (see below) and are beginning a second run. Due to the lower volume of leaves at this time of year, they will not need to spend an entire week in each section, so they will move along to the next section as the previous one is cleared. They will continue this until all of the leaves are removed or the weather changes to where they have to concentrate efforts on snow removal.
Again, residents are asked to rake their leaves into the street, but against the curb line. Please note that high piles of leaves could cause site view obstructions for vehicles as well as make it more difficult for crews to vacuum them. The piles should be spread out along your property’s curb line.
Please see the leaf-vacuuming schedule below:
