Brighton Kiwanis Honor Top Fifth Grade Spellers
Five Maltby Intermediate School students will receive dictionaries engraved with their names.

Five fifth-graders will receive engraved dictionaries for spelling their way into the top five spots in the Brighton Kiwanis Club's 12th Annual Spelling Bee.
The event featured 28 fifth grade finalists. The top five will receive personalized dictionaries with their names engraved on them. The dictionaries will be presented to the students at one of the Kiwanis' summer concert series in the gazebo at Mill Pond Park.
"One reason we do the spelling bee year after year is because it is Kiwanis' goal to change the world one child at a time," Brighton Kiwanis President Suzanne Richardson said. "If we can enhanc eour children, then we can enhance our community. We do this and the dictionaries and anything we possibly can for the kids. That's what it's about."
