1. The weather

There will be a garage sale today at 10811 Essex Dr, Brighton, MI beginning at 9 a.m. There will be DVDs, games, office supplies, ice cream freezer, basketball hoop, American Girl stuff, crafts, teen girl dresses, purses, clothes, books and other household items.

The 8th Annual Gleaners Iron Chef Competition will take place at 6 p.m. tonight at 6347 Grand River Rd, Brighton, MI. Tammy Young, Executive Chef of Wooden Spoon will compete against Oak Point Country Club's Executive Chef Patrick Srock. They will each prepare an appetizer, entree and dessert utilizing the secret ingredient chosen specially for the event. The event will raise money for Gleaners' Shared Harvest Pantry in Howell. Guests will taste a selection of hors d'oeuvres and desserts from local restaurants and bid on a silent auction. Judged by a variety of metro Detroit's culinary experts and community leaders.
