1. The weather

Today will be mostly sunny, with a 30 percent chance of showers after 3 p.m., and a high near 81 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a 30 percent chance of showers before 8 p.m., and a  low around 55 degrees.

2. Gasoline prices

Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Thursday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:

3. Michigan Challenge Balloonfest

The Michigan Challenge Balloonfest runs all day today at the Howell High School Complex at 1200 W Grand River Ave in Howell. The event offers family entertainment, thrilling skydiving jumps, flyovers, Veterans' Ceremony, a carnival, stunt kites, downtown activities and more. Enjoy the MediLodge Fireworks on Friday night, and don’t miss the Saturday night performance by Annebelle Road before the fabulous balloon glow.

4. Friday Night Live

The Milford Downtown Development Authority and Huron Valley Council for the Arts will present Friday Night Live at the Center Street Park gazebo at 500 N Main St, Milford from 7-9 p.m. Concert-goers will enjoy free musical concerts and have the chance to browse works by local artists.

5. Trivia
