How to Build the Perfect Guinness - Stout Style

St. Patrick's Day is the one day a year where everyone gets to be Irish.

This St. Patty's Day also marks Stout Irish Pub's 10th Anniversary in downtown Brighton. 

Stout's celebration will begin on Friday and culminate on Sunday, St. Patrick's Day with plenty of green beer and of course, Guinness, an Irish staple beer.

Stout's bartender Catherine O'Brien, who is originally from Ireland, said pouring a perfect glass of Guinness takes two steps: filling the glass a little over halfway, then waiting and watching for the signiture dark beer to settle before filling the rest of the glass.

She also adds a special Irish trademark design of a four-leaf clover. 

The weekend will give way to live music, DJ and dancing, green beer, giveaways, an appearance from the Guinness girls, and even some girls on swings throwing t-shirts, hats and beads out to the crowd.

“We are planning to get a big cake and a few other things to help us celebrate Stout’s birthday,” said Dave Norman, new owner of the bar and generall manager sicne 2007.  “We want to make this year a little more special.”

On St. Patrick’s Day, Stout will be open at 7 a.m. serving breakfast, and the heated outdoor patio and outside bar will open at 11 a.m.

Festivities will include Irish dancers, bagpipers, live music from 8:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., and a DJ and dancing from 10 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. There will be no cover all weekend, including St. Patrick’s Day.
