More Than $79,000 Worth of Jewelry Stolen from Howell Ultra Diamonds

Nearly $80,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from the Howell Ultra Diamonds store in the Tanger Outlet Mall on Dec. 8. at 1:16 a.m.
Police said an unknown object was shoved through the tempered glass door and then used to pull outward. Inside the showroom, many of the glass display cases were broken with merchandise thrown around, according to the report.
Police found wet footprints on dry cement, ripped cloth and a Marlboro cigarette butt near the door and blood on and in some of the broken display cases, the report said.

The store's one surveillance camera in mounted on the west wall, while the cases that were broken face the east wall of the store.
The stolen jewelry included rings, earrings, necklaces, pendants and bracelets, and totaled $79,168, according to the police report. The most expensive item stolen was a 3/4 carat white gold ring, totaling $9,425.
