The peanut butter may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The Ohio-based J.M. Smucker Co. is recalling 16-ounce jars of Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter Chunky distributed in many states, including Michigan, due to possible salmonella contamination, according to a report in Fox News.
The recalled jars have a "best if used by" date of Aug. 3, 2012 and Aug. 4, 2012, plus the production codes 1307004 and 1308004, according to the article.
In Oakland Township, store manager Tom Connolly said most of the jars of Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter Chunky in his store have expiration dates in July of 2012 and are not part of the recall.
