Clawson Tops Cranbrook in Pre-District Final

The Clawson High School varsity baseball team rode Jake Smith's complete game against Cranbrook on Friday to a 6-2 win in the pre-district game.

Smith picked up his ninth win of the season with four hits allowed, four strikeouts, and one run earned. He helped his own cause at the plate with two hits, one run scored and one RBI. Other highlights included:

• Craig Bynum hit his fifth home run of the year, going 3-for-4 at the plate.
• Matt Pike went 2-for-4 at the plate.
