Clawson Educational Enrichment Fund Announces Grant Awards

From Clawson Public Schools: The Clawson Educational Enrichment Fund announced its 13th annual grant awards:

Clawson High School/Clawson Middle School

• Desk & Bloor Lamps for Still-Life Drawing Projects – Eileen Toro

Clawson High School

• Games for Executive Thinking Skills – Strategic Reading Class - Barbara Kienman
• SAT Prep Materials - Kimberly Olson

Kenwood Elementary School

• Foam Balls for K-5 PE Classes – Brandon Brewart
• Books for Kindergarten Classroom Library – Lori Karam
• Butterfly Kits for First Grade Classes – Christine Wade

Schalm Elementary

• NeoRok Student Stools – Cammie Dudek
• Award Winning Books for Schalm Library – Debbie Ziegler

Reading Specialist Cammie Dudek explained the NeoRok student stools feature a unique rounded base which allows movement for active students. With the ‘wobble’ students can release excess energy while increasing their focus.

“The purpose of these awards is to actively engage students in learning,” said Helen Beamer, committee chairperson. “The projects funded this year will help promote reading, develop thinking skills and physical dexterity, and energize art and science activities.” Members of the Clawson Enrichment Fund Committee are: Jessica Back, Helen Beamer, Mike Bosnic, Amy Carpenter, James McHale, Cyndi Peltonen, Amy Reaume and Scott Rieck.
