Clawson Police Say Stranger Gave Kids Candy

Police investigating incident last week in which an older, gray-haired man gave two children candy, the Oakland Press reports.

Clawson Police said an older, gray-haired man approached two children near High Street and 14 Mile Road around 2:30 p.m. last Thursday and gave them each a box a candy, according to an article in the Oakland Press.

“The concern is why this man approached kids he didn’t know and offered them candy,” Clawson Police Lt. Scott Sarvello told the newspaper. “It’s a strange scenario in this day and age when kids are taught from a very early age not to take candy from strangers.”

The children - ages 11 and 12 - were playing outside at the time. After they were given the candy, they went inside and told their parents, according to the story. Read the full article here.
