Eagle Scout is a Family Tradition For Clawson Scout
Service Project Collects Worn Flags To Be Retired

(CLAWSON – APRIL 8, 2025) Caden Jones, 17, of Clawson, MI, recently earned Scouting America’s highest advancement award, the Eagle Scout Award with Bronze Palm. Jones will be recognized in a ceremony this spring.
A member of Clawson’s Troop 1615, chartered with The Church @ Clawson, Jones is one of only approximately 6 percent of all Scouts who earn the Eagle rank, according to Troop Committee Chair Troy Engel. Each candidate must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, serve in troop leadership positions, and successfully complete a community-related service project to earn Eagle; Jones earned 28 merit badges, and planned, built and installed two collection boxes in Clawson for worn American flags to be properly retired. Jones is currently a senior at Clawson High School, where he is active in band, cross-country, swimming and track.
Jones plans to attend Michigan Technological University in the fall and is interested in a career in cyber-security. He is the son of Kevin and Tracie Jones of Clawson. Jones is a second-generation Eagle Scout in his family, after his father.
