Adios, Amigo: Suspect in Motorized Cart Theft Remains Unknown

Do you know the woman pictured in these surveillance images?

If so, Clinton Township police would like to talk with her about the theft of a motorized shopping cart from Meijer.

Store detectives say the woman entered the Groesbeck Meijer at around 9:11 a.m. Nov. 26 and several minutes later made a purchase at one of the U-Scan terminals, according to the police report.

The woman then used one of the store's Amigo electric shopping carts to leave the property. She was last seen riding the black and yellow three-wheel scooter past Sonic toward Groesbeck, according to police.

Meijer employees conducted a search of the area once it became the clear the woman was leaving the store lot with the vehicle, but were unsuccessful, police say.

Police describe the suspect as a white female in her 60s, wearing glasses, and a white and blue jacket at the time of the theft.

Anyone with information on the suspect's identity or the location of the cart is asked to call the police department at 586-493-7840.
