Clinton Township Crash Kills Sterling Heights Woman

The woman was killed Sunday afternoon and was a passenger in a Toyota Camry that was rear-ended, police said.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI β€” A 64-year-old woman was killed and her daughter injured after their Toyota Camry was rear-ended by a teenager while they sat at a red light at the intersection of Metropolitan Parkway and Groesbeck Highway Sunday afternoon in Clinton Township, according to a Macomb Daily report. Police said the impact of the collision sent the Toyota into the median where it hit a tree and flipped onto its roof.

β€œThe Sterling Heights woman, who was a passenger in the Camry, was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Both drivers were seriously injured in the crash. A 17-year-old boy from Fraser was driving the Yukon, police Sgt. Christopher Allis said.”
β€œAllis said the teenager and the woman driving the Camry were being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police are withholding the names of all three people.”
