Public Hearing on Street Lighting, Sale of Tax Forfeited Properties on Township Agenda
The Clinton Township board of trustees meets at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22, at the Civic Center off Romeo Plank Road. Here's an overview of tonight's agenda.

Public hearings on the distribution of Clinton Township's street lighting costs and a local business' request for a tax abatement are among the issues board members will consider at tonight's meeting.
The Clinton Township board of trustees meets at 6:30 p.m. today in the board chambers at the Civic Center, located off Romeo Plank Road.Β
Board meetings are also telecast live on CTTV, Clinton Township's Government Access cable TV channel, and telecast again on Saturdays at 2 pm. and Tuesdays at 8 p.m.

Public Hearings
- Annual Resolution Adopting Special Assessment Lighting Districts: Around 50 special assessment lighting districts currently exist in Clinton Township. The board is expected to direct the township assessor to spread the $472,795 cost of street lighting (according to Detroit Edison bills) among residents and businesses in these districts.
- Cougar Cutting Tools Inc. Regarding Application for Transfer Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate for Personal Property: Owner of the business is requesting a tax abatement from the township to help offset the cost of purchasing additional machinery and hiring additional employees needed to stay competitive in the current market.
Transfer Ownership of Liquor License: The township board must approve the transfer of the liquor license from the previous owners of Dimitri's Rendezvous to the new owners of the Gratiot building, Catering 2 You.
Approval to Market and Advertise For Sale Township Owned Tax Forfeited Properties: The township has acquired 71 tax forfeited properties this year, of which 31 are either a house or condo. The remaining 40 parcels are vacant land. The township is looking to sell 25 of the houses and condos at this time.
Review of 2013 41B District Court Budget: The court's 2013 proposed budget is $5,201,100, approximately $8,000 less than the 2012 budget.
Add Approximately 400 feet of Water Main to current Maplewood Water Main Replacement Project: This additional work is projected to cost $47,000.
